Het nieuwe album artwork van ‘Rising Down’, het 10e studioalbum, is binnen. Op verschillende Amerikaanse blogs is de discussie al gestart; de illustratie heet “Negro Rule”.

Dit is wat ?uestlove er over te zeggen had:
“[The drawing] pretty much sums up the feeling of the Confederate Union towards the newly freed slaves and the idea that if given power they would [wreak] havoc and chaos on the country. Somehow in watching this election one can’t help but wonder if those unspoken feelings…reflect the looming figure of the old figureheads of Washington now?”

De eerste single van het album heet ‘Birthday Girl’. De hook wordt gezongen door Patrick Stump van Fall Out Boy. ‘Birthday Girl’ is te horen op de MySpace van The Roots.

‘Rising Down’ komt eind april (26e) uit.
